About OSOS

The Orthopaedic Surgical Osseointegration Society (OSOS) seeks to foster and promote knowledge amongst health care professionals of the process by which bone attaches to metallic implants used in orthopaedic reconstructions. Long understood as the basis of dental implantology, osseointegration is the means by which orthopaedic surgical implants achieve bone anchorage without conventional stems and bone cement. The Society seeks to facilitate communication amongst physicians and scientists regarding advances in basic, translational, and  clinical applications of the principles of orthopaedic osseointegration.
